Curated by Marlo Kronberg and Christine Bílý, Mythologies is a group show featuring works of magic realism by artists Bek Andersen, Wendy Bevan,

Design House (129 Rivington between Norfolk and Suffolk). The after-party begins at 10 pm at Le Poisson Rouge with a live set by New York garage rockers The Mystery Lights.
Mythologies is an invocation of the contemporary muse. Comprised of oneiric, darkly exquisite meditations on feminine myth, Mythologies posits fantasy as reality and identity as an art form. The new muse explored in this exhibition channels both Erata and Eros -- she’s playful, unfettered, and rococo in a modern way. A creature of dualities, she’s masculine and feminine, ancient and modern, heavenly and earthly, diaphanous and voluptuous, lunar and solar, innocent and savage, natural and constructed. These pieces of photography, film, and sculpture by young artists pay tribute to the spirit of the muse in the ancient sense while also remaining unique statements of the moment.
